Last November, VLI’s first president, Nathan Nießen, committed suicide. The loss of Nathan was felt by so many including members of VLI. VLI in response and in its educational capacity have arranged a workshop to help support and strengthen our community.
While the combination of contributing factors are different for everyone, at times many of us feel distress, alienation, loneliness, despair, and being overwhelmed. These can be compounded when we are gender and sexually diverse, enjoy power dynamics, or practice BDSM. How do we care for ourselves, and for each other?
Our first New Guard Education Series for 2020 is a workshop designed by queer- and kink-friendly psychologist Vikki Sinnott to help participants weather life. The program includes reflection, optional participation, tools, strategies, handouts, and resources for afterwards.
VLI thanks Vikki for donating her time and knowledge to present this valuable workshop. All proceeds will go to Switchboard.
Switchboard Victoria provides peer-driven support services for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and gender diverse, intersex, queer and asexual (LGBTIQA+) people, their families, allies and communities.
